concert weekend

this past weekend was super fun. my mom came up to waco friday afternoon and we drove together to dallas for a fun filled weekend. i got to show her our new apartment and then we went downtown to meet blake for dinner near his work.

after dinner we headed to the superpages.com center to see chicago. my mom's birthday present to herself is usually concert tickets. for her last birthday she didnt get any so she made up for it this weekend!

i was super lame and dont have a single picture from the weekend with either of us in it. i didnt have my camera and only took some shots with the iphone so that makes for a pretty boring picture post. but ill do it anyway.

this is chicago on stage with the doobie brothers who opened for them

then saturday was where the real fun was had. my mom, blake and i headed to meet some of her friends in uptown for lunch at an awesome place called breadwinners. it has a very "new orleans, french quarter" vibe and i loved it. plus the food was amazing. then blake left to play golf and the rest of us spent the day shopping.

then saturday night was the grand finale of our concert weekend...the eagles! my mom and i headed down to the american airlines center early with plans to go eat in west end. well the wait at every place was super long and we didnt want to miss the beginning of the concert so we ate at...hooters. yes me and my mom at dinner together at hooters. awesome.

our seats for the eagles were great bc they were on the front row of the seats up from the floor so there was never anyone in our way of the direct shot to the stage.

the stage during hotel california.

the concert was amazing. i cant wait to see the eagles again at acl in october.

then sunday we went to lunch at taco diner which is quickly becoming a fav of mine and blakes. and then we headed back to waco and ended the fun weekend.

well now im off to finish things for my LAST class EVERRR. i cannot believe i am one final away from completing my educational career. well technically ill still be a student but getting paid with no tests, papers, or random assignments. cant. wait.

home sweet home

i am NOT a fan of packing (especially when i have to pack 2 peoples worth of things by myself) but i am majorly a fan of our new apartment. we're finally moved in! well, our stuff is and blake is. i unfortunately still am not (only a little less than 2 weeks though!)

this weekend we finally moved all of our stuff to the new place. minus the packing it was pretty painless. those movers have lifting heavy furniture down to an art. glad thats not my job.

pictures to come later once all the boxes are unpacked and everything is put away. for now im off to clean the old apartment and get the last of the stuff out of the closets. never. ending.

wedding bells

i am SUCH a bad blogger. seriously i decide to bring back the ole blog and then i never post. i do have good excuses though. im taking 2 summer school classes, working, traveling back and forth from waco to dallas each weekend, and packing! more on all that later.

last weekend blake and i made the trek down south to go to a wedding. blake came to waco friday and then we headed out early saturday to catch a ride with my parents to corpus christi. in the car i downloaded the hipstamatic app for my iphone and had a lot of fun playing around with that!

when we got to corpus we checked into our room before going and walking around the water a bit. my dad has a thing for boats and i kid you not we NEVER go to a place with a marina without taking a look at it. so we did that and then decided that courpus weather SUCKS and went back to the hotel to get out of the crazy heat and humidity.

view of the bay from our hotel room.

walking to the marina to look at boats.

we then headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. our hotel was very conveniently located right across the street from landrys so the perfect dinner awaited. we also celebrated blakes graduation and job since a family emergency right after his graduation prevented my parents from actually being able to take him out.

with my dad and blake after dinner.

with my parents.

we then changed and headed to the wedding. i have known bryan since i was 5 and have grown up with him at church. it was a nice little opportunity to see lots of old church friends. the wedding was in a beautiful church and the reception was at an art center. it was decorated so cool and kinda had a south beach feel to it. lots of dancing, lots of wine, it was a win in my book!

sunday we got up and headed down to mustang island for lunch before heading back home.

more boats.

overall a very fun weekend. we (mostly i) look forward to the many more weddings we have coming up in the next few months. i just LOVE weddings :)
