I have officially finished week one of my 10k training! And I'm still actually excited about it and don't dread my runs. This could be the start of something wonderful!A few of my friends decided that they were going to start training for a half-marathon in Austin. They tried to convince me to join them but a half marathon is a little, ok a lot intimidating to me at the moment. So I figured I would start off small and then think about working my way up there with those crazy girls.
I have never been a big runner but have always secretly wished that I enjoyed it. So I have started following a training program and am loving it so far! I really enjoy having someone else tell me exactly how much and when to run.
So to motivate myself I treated myself (ok so actually it was mom's contribution to my new goal) to these beauties at the top. Actually mine are purple and yellow but same shoe! I finally went and got fitted for some shoes that work well with my feet (that point out when I walk/run/stand). And also I have tried to tell a lot of people that I'm doing it so that I will be motivated to actually stick to it. So hence my post. (Even though I'm pretty sure no one reads this thing.) Which speaking of, if you are reading this right now, go ahead and click the thing to the right to follow me. I only have one follower and its my husband so that doesn't count (and I may or may not have made him do that). And if you have a blog, I'll return the favor!
Ok so anyways just wanted to share my little goal (or big goal for me). I hope to keep doing this same post week after week!

I just happened across your blog. I ran a half-marathon last Sept. and if I can do it....anyone can! Trust me! That's great you're training for a 10K. I definitely need a schedule and something to work toward, or I don't stay consistent with it. Good luck with your training! Good idea getting a good pair of shoes - that's key!
