So I know I'm way behind on this little event but I'm going to catch myself up anyways. I've been wanting to blog a little on our wedding and whatnot so I figure this is the perfect way to do it. So on that note, I'm going to join in on the "Show us your life" event at Kelly's Korner.
So week one: Wedding dress.
I absolutely LOVE my wedding dress. Before wedding dress shopping, I spent a lot of time online looking at pictures and trying to get an idea of what I liked. Then I began the actual search. My mom, my sister, and I spent an afternoon driving around Austin and I quickly fell in love with the first boutique we went into. Alexia Gavela Bridal had so many beautiful dresses and they were so helpful! They showed me some of the dresses I had previously picked and then brought me some they thought I would like that were a little different. The first time I went I had found 2 dresses that I really liked but still could not decide. We took pictures and decided to think and come back later. The second time I went back, they showed me this new dress they just got in
and I fell in love.

The dress is from the 2009 La Sposa collection by Pronovias. I had some custom alterations to remove the top it originally had and change it into the sweetheart neckline. The dress was a trumpet silhouette with rouching on the right side. It had light beading a lace details starting at the right side and going outwards.

Here is the a view of the top while I read my letter from Blake.

A better view of the silloutte. (Sorry for not having better pictures of details, I am not on my computer at the moment.)
Week 2: Wedding flowers, Ceremony, Wedding Party
Picking out my wedding flowers was much easier than I thought it would be. I brought my florist a list of flowers I liked, my colors, and pictures for inspiration. And with that, we came up with some beautiful things!

Our ceremony flowers were very simple. Since the venue was so lush and green, I didn't want to go overboard. We had coral roses and gerber daisys tied to the chair ends.

My bouquet was all white and ivory flowers. It had calla lillies, roses, tulips, and ranaculus. I tied my grandparents wedding rings into the bouquet in memory of them as my something borrowed for the day. Blake wore a mini calla lilly like the ones in my bouquet.

My bridesmaids carried bouquets of coral and yellow roses, tulips, gerber daisys, and coral berries. I just loved how colorful they were and how perfect they went with the dresses! The groomsment wore mini coral calla lillies.
Our ceremony was a very short and sweet Episcopal service. One of the former preachers from my church back home drove up from Houston to do our wedding. I spent many a summer working with him at our church camp so it was nice for him to be such a special part of our wedding. We had a string trio and trumpet play the ceremony music and we picked all traditional music. My niece, Olivia, did the readings (one from Song of Soloman and 1 Corinthians).
Our wedding party was made up of our best friends and family members.

From left to right: Briana, Katelyn, Amy, me, Ashley, Breann, Stefanie
Briana, Katelyn, and Amy were all my roommates while at Baylor. We all lived on the same hall freshman year and then lived together every year after! Briana and Amy were also Alpha Chi's with me which is where I met Stef as well (who was basically our honorary roommate). My sister, Ashley, was my maid of honor. Breann has been one of my best friends since middle school. All the girls wore coral Aria dresses.

Left to right: JJ(usher), Ross, Will, Blake, husband, Phil, Dane, Chad, Hunter(ring bearer)
All of Blake's groomsmen were friends from elementary school and high school. They all wore black Calvin Klein tuxedos.

Left to right: Hunter, Emily, me, Hub, Jimmie, JJ
Our flower girl, ring bearers, and usher were all my cousins (and they are all brothers and sisters). Since Emily and Jimmie (they are twins) were so young, their older brother, Hunter, walked down the aisle with them.
And that my friends is my VERY long post about our wedding. There is more to come though later!!
xo, Linds
